TDap Immunization Required for all rising 7th Grade Students In accordance with South Carolina Code of Laws, Section 44-29-180, and South Carolina Regulation 61-8, ALL students must have received the TDap (Tetanus,
Diphtheria, Pertussis) immunization on or after the 10th birthday. BEFORE the start of 7th grade.
When your 6th grader sees a healthcare provider this year, please be aware that all students must have the TDap vaccine before they begin school as 7th graders in August 2025. Incoming 7th graders will not receive a schedule or be able to attend class without an up-to-date immunization record. A copy of your child’s most current SC Certificate of Immunization must be on file with your child’s school nurse.

If your child gets this vaccine during the summer, send it directly to the school where they plan to attend 7th grade.
