MLES is helping sponsor Operation Magi, a ministry of Pendleton United Methodist Church. This program supports students and families in our Anderson District 4 community with three gifts for Christmas - a shirt, a pair of pants, and a toy. If you would like to sponsor a child this Christmas, please stop by the front office for a star. Thank you for your support.
Mark your calendars now! PTO's Annual Cookies with Santa event will be on December 10th. Drop by anytime between 6:00 and 7:30! The book fair will be open that night as well.
Mount Lebanon will be hosting our annual Veterans Day program on Monday, November 11th at 1:30.
This will be an opportunity for our students to learn about and celebrate veterans and their contributions to our country. If you are a veteran or if you have a family member who is a veteran, we would like to invite you to the program as well! If you would like to attend, please plan to arrive by 1:10 that day.
Also, we are asking that all students wear red, white, or blue on that day.
Fall Pictures will be sent home this afternoon in Thursday Folders. Each child will receive an envelope with a full package of pictures to review. If you are not interested in purchasing any of the pictures, simply return the entire packet to your child’s teacher. However, if you are interested in purchasing any (or all) of the pictures, simply follow the directions that are printed on the collection envelope that is included in the packet. You will have two options for payment: return money in the enclosed envelope or pay online (directions for online payment are included). The due date for returning payment and any pictures that you do not wish to purchase is October 25th.
If your child was not present for Picture Day, we will be doing make-up pictures on November 12th.
The second grade musical entitled "Bunnies!" will be next Thursday (10/24) at 6:30 at PHS.
Subject: School Closure Update for Thursday and Friday, October 3 & 4
Anderson 4 Family,
We hope you are staying safe during these challenging conditions. Due to ongoing power outages and roads that remain impassable for our buses, we have made the difficult decision to cancel school on Thursday, October 3, and Friday, October 4. There will be no eLearning on these days, as more than half of our families and staff are still without power.
In addition, please note that Monday, October 7 is a scheduled holiday, and school will remain closed. Tuesday, October 8 is a professional development day for our teachers, so there will be no classes for students on that day as well.
The following schools will remain accessible from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM, and complimentary food will be provided from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM. We encourage community members who need a secure environment and access to charging stations for their devices to visit. Please be advised that the buildings will have power, HVAC systems, and free public Wi-Fi available for use.
